Here we come to save the day in the middle east again. I know this is a effort of the "World Community", but we're still there to protect the lybian citizens from Qaddafi's oppressive regime. But who are we really protecting? There is no telling who's mixed in the mass of lybian citizens. So what is the long term goal? And make no mistake about it this will have long term reproccusions one way or another. If Qaddafi stays in power most likely we'll have to deal with him in the future, because of revenge against America, or whomever else he sees as his enemy from the result of this united "evil aggression". If he leaves power will a new tyrant be any better? I'm beginning to wonder does it ultimately do any good to get involved in these middle east messes.
The president says we shouldn't stand by and watch as innocent Lybian citizens are slaughtered. If that's trully the case how far do we take that stance around the world. There are innocent citizens being slaughtered all over the world. How thin does U.S. military spread itself at the command of action not even approved by congress? How much money do we spend in foreign affairs when we don't even have enough money to take care of homeland affairs. Social Security, the housing crash, credit debt, healthcare, and the economy as a whole looms large, concerning holding our own country together. Where is all the anti war media attention now that their media darling president decided to involve us in another foreign conflict where there's probably no end in sight.? Folks I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see much good coming out of this in the long run. I think another hornet's nest is being stirred in the Islamic world waiting to sting the evil infidels to death, just like a bee, at the cost of their own lives if necessary. I never thought I'd say this, but I think it is time for the U.S. to become more isolated, seal the borders and get our own act in order!
